Mouth to Mouth RR12
$60.00 USD
For most of the year, in most years in fact, Zoarchias major eelpouts are nowhere to be seen. Little is known about these small, elongated fish, except that they sometimes show up during the spring and summer months in shallow coastal waters. When this happens, mature males can be seen engaging in confrontation like this, facing one another with mouths wide open.
From personal observation, it seems likely that the size of open mouths serves as a means of relative strength comparison. “Mine is bigger than yours,” so to speak. To be fair though, it’s not just the males. Females square off against females, and some also take on males.
It’s equal opportunity mouthing off for these fish.
Each print is chopped with my logo. Sizes listed are the dimensions of the printed image in inches (see FAQ for equivalent sizes in centimeters). There is an additional white border around the image to allow for framing. A complete list of image and paper sizes can be found in the FAQ.
