Take Five (or Six)
Even in the midst of action-packed competitive heat runs (boys trying to get the attention of a girl), humpback whales slow down from time to time. Pictured here are six humpback whales (Megaptera novaeangliae) taking five, so to speak.
The dark individual visible behind the foremost whale is the female, the focus of everyone else's attention.
