Wayward Son BW12
$100.00 USD
This young humpback whale (Megaptera novaeangliae) was a bad little boy. Every opportunity he saw, the calf would swim far, far away from his mother, who was doing her very best to get a bit of shut-eye.
Eventually she’d notice that her calf was AWOL, usually many hundreds of meters away (in feet—much too far for a young whale to be wandering off unsupervised), stress out and set off in search of her wayward son.
While the calf’s energy and desire to explore will perhaps serve him well as an adult, it is never a good idea for such a young humpback to stray so far, so often from his mother. Besides being his sole source of nutrition (in the form of fat-rich milk), mommy is the only protection he has.
As if to underscore this point, the calf was covered with scars, including a couple of large chunks missing from his body.
Each print is chopped with my logo. Sizes listed are the dimensions of the printed image in inches (see FAQ for equivalent sizes in centimeters). There is an additional white border around the image to allow for framing. A complete list of image and paper sizes can be found in the FAQ.
